He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were
unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said
to Peter, “It is the Lord!”.......When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and
some bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” John 21
It interesting to me that Jesus already has fish cooking for the disciples to eat, but invited them to bring
some of their fish as well. They would not have had any fish had he not made it so, and told them to fish
on the other side, showing them His way, and obedience is better. Meditate...
Jesus provides the fish for the meal, invites them to bring their own fish that he also provided and has
them eat together. I'm sure Jesus had enough fish to feed everyone, but wanted them rather to see that
everything comes from him either directly or indirectly. He has more than enough to go around, but
invites us to give back to Him what he has already given to us to use together. Beautiful...
Today Jesus asks me to share my life, the new life that is Gods through Jesus, in obedience with His
disciples. Come sit by the fire, let us listen, let us eat.
